Thanksgiving's Melody

I close my eyes and listen
for the music from my soul
as it plays
Thanksgiving melody
of praise and gratitude.

I inhale crisp autumn air,
while I meditate on the lyrics
that I must add
to this ancient melody,
that was generated
when the Creator intoned creation's "Be!"

O Glory of the All-Glorious,
I give you thanks
for the blessing
of life.
