Hiccups
After dinner the wizard approached & took the princess aside. I was so nervous that I began to hiccup. Every time I did, a tiny jet of flame came out. The wizard was quick to magic up a damp cloth to wrap around me & diminish my becoming a fire hazard. Thankfully, after the princess explained how she found me during the storm, he promised to not notify the king. Rather, he took me to his tower & gave me a nasty tonic. I will admit that it got rid of my hiccups right quick. The next day the wizard saw to it that I had recovered enough to again attempt the arduous journey home. As I flew out the window I felt a pang in my heart. The princess was responsible for saving my life. Was there nothing I could do to repay her kindness toward me? I settled into a tree a stone's throw away from the castle wall partly out of indecision & partly because it was evening with the sun disappearing behind the hill.
