20231007 Accountability 7 - Success!

Okay...

This is where my weirdness comes into play.

I set the goal of finishing this story by today. It's been playing on my mind even as my mental health crumbles and my loneliness increases.

At 1:30 this morning I got up for one of my normal toilet trips. I got back to the bedroom and climbed into bed, and then tossed and turned.

I was hit with a vision of a woman with long hair changing from human to human-bat hybrid, back and forth, screaming in pain.

I had the scene in my head.

I had to get it down.

At six I had a shower, ablutions, half an hour there.

At nine-thirty I went for my normal daily walk, spoke to the woman I like for a little while, and she helped me with my postal vote; that was an hour. At 12:30 I drove the fifteen minutes to the next town, bought lunch, and was in the library by 1:30. Now it's just gone 5:30 and I have finally finished this damn story.

I left the ending so open it is insane.

My meet-cute couple are in their 40s.

We have hope the MC female will conquer the monster within.

We have a feeling there is a new monster headed back to the USA.

All up, I have been writing for around 13 1/2 hours.

The story has ended at 101100 words. Yes, today I added almost 15k words in what can only be described as a manic episode, spurred on by me setting a goal and being determined to complete it.

A 101k word story.

My brain feels like mush. Tomorrow will be Weekend Notes columns, try to catch up there, then I'll do an initial edit, and my brain will be all set for November and the story of Raven.

And I hardly thought about her at all today.
