A blog devoted just to my scriptwriting. That’s all I’m going to blogging about here.

Mostly a Relaxing Day
Mostly a Relaxing Day

My brother and I had a little bit that we needed to get done today, but it didn’t take us that long to do it. As a result, I had plenty of time to continue my research on whether or not I can convert my handwriting to text, so I don’t have to do it the slower manual way. I didn’t just do research today. Actually, got to test out this possibility.

I ran two tests on my Scanner using the first five pages of my Scene Outline for Part One of my Water Wars scriptwriting project. The first time went okay, but I put it backward and upside down. It was face forward. So, when it ran through the Scanner it came out upside down with the backside of page five being the first one in the list instead of the last.

The second attempt was a lot better. It went through the Scanner the correct way. I just have to remember to do it that way. Maybe I will write that as a comment so that I don’t forget that way again. After all, my memory isn’t as good as it used to be. If I don’t write it down, I will probably forget it.

It wasn’t just the Scanning Process, though. I Saved it in Word instead of a Searchable PDF. So, it didn’t come out too well. A lot of it is still good, but the Title Page for this Scene Outline got very messed up. Part of the first paragraph did too. I didn’t look at the rest of it too closely.

I was going to try it again. Only this time Save it as a Searchable PDF. Didn’t do that for a couple of reasons. One reason was I didn’t have the time to do it. That’s because I had to start getting ready for work. The other reason was that I just turned off my Scanner. Of course, I could have turned it back on, but for the first reason I decided not to do it.

Why didn’t I have the time to get it tested a third time? It wasn’t just because of the messing up and the time getting away from me. It’s because I messed up earlier. I had some trouble connecting my laptop to my Scanner. That’s because I forgot to plug in my USB connection. It took me about an hour to realize what I was doing wrong. That’s why I didn’t do another test.

It will probably be next Monday at the earliest before I can try these tests again. If I can do it, then. Hopefully, I will have at least one Short Story to write during my next days off from work. I’m not going to count on that until it happens, though. After all, I still haven’t gotten any prompts yet.

I haven’t checked the WDC for a couple of hours. So, there could be one or both prompts there. One I may get in the next day or two. That’s the WDC Short Story contest. The other one I may never get. I’m still not sure if I’m going to be a part of that contest anymore. It sure doesn’t look like I am.
