Edges

England being the land of business,
you mind yours and I’ll mind mine,
boundaries become our great excess -
my edge is here, the rest is thine.

Dry stone walls do grace the North,
over hill and down in dell,
but southerners do find their worth
in hedges clipped and tended well.
