20230616 Helping

It is now early afternoon in the library. I've just finished another Negative Review ("MOVIE #13 – THE WORST MOVIE: SANTA WITH MUSCLES" ) and posted it. Finished - I started this last month, but with my mental health issues, I never quite got around to finishing it. Now, I was inspired. And I can finish the book, song and TV show as well. I hope.

Anyway, this morning, while pottering around on WdC, I have also been helping an old lady here at the library. She was being helped by one of the staff - they do IT/computer assistance here - and she wanted to have a contents page for the books she is writing (a family history) in Word. They tried the commands in the tool bar, but failed. I interrupted, and got it to work for them.

Anyway, I got to talking to the lady, and she let me read a part of her work. She wanted to know why certain things were underlined. After I changed the language to real English from US English, a number of the lines disappeared, but there were still a few there. So i went through and explained some of the grammar principles she had got wrong. She took plenty of notes. The librarian also watched.

Well, long story short, I am now $25 richer, as she bought one of my books. She doesn't like horror, but her son does, so she's going to give it to him. I didn't mention it; the librarian did, and, well, yeah.

Sometimes being nice pays off.
