Many states in India eagerly wait for June, the first month of monsoon. Till then, the heat’s intensity is reputed to break the rocks. The hot breeze shrivels up man and nature alike. Cows lie quiet under wilted branches of enervated trees. People keep to their homes sipping lemonade. This year, it’s a different story. There wasn’t an inch of rain despite the monsoon. The temperatures rose to a record high in the century i.e.40 to 48 degrees celsius. Why on earth has this happened? Pat comes the answer. Global Warming. It spreads like wild fire from place to place stealing us of the joy of life. How do we control it? Just by living a simple life with love for nature. Let’s plant more trees. No more building apartment complexes. Water wastage and pollution of any kind should go. Rain water harvesting brings up ground water levels. Our lakes, rivers and the seas must be protected from being polluted. It’s never too late to embark on a good venture. If everyone in their capacity takes necessary measures, the day is not far, when we once again have rains in time and temperatures returning to normalcy.
