365 Days of Blessing _ May 26, 2023

Dear God,

in government, there are those who sense ideal plans to help the poor, the infirm and indigent, but in the days of Babylon, the Chaldeans were not so merciful.

They grew merciless as they produced a slave population that would enable them to prosper in ways they had never prospered before. You speak of the easy life that they thought lay before them. They suddenly acquired a mindset that they would never suffer loss. They would have husbands and children forever. Even as the children of Judah were raised up to be their slaves, the easy life increased.

But they practiced witchcraft, and worshiped in a way that mocked You, the God of Israel, and they put life crushing burdens on their slaves. This went on until You, the Father of Israel, said, "no more!" Suddenly Babylon was filled with widows and their children were sacrificed to the vicious gods of the Chaldeans. Everything turned upside down for the godless nation of Babylon. Please continue to show Your mercy on America. For the sake of Your Church O Lord, and for those around the world who depend on our funding the work of preaching the Gospel, here and abroad. Thank You.

Isaiah 47:6-9


I was angry with my people (Judah); I profaned my heritage; I gave them into your hand (Chaldeans); you showed them no mercy; on the aged you made your yoke exceedingly heavy.

You said, “I shall be mistress forever,” so that you did not lay these things to heart or remember their end.

Now therefore hear this you lover of pleasures, who sit securely, who say in your heart, “I am, and there is no one besides me; I shall not sit as a widow or know the loss of children”:

These two things shall come to you in a moment, in one day; the loss of children, and widowhood shall come upon you in full measure. In spite of your many sorceries and the great power of your enchantments.

I will learn from those who have scorned Your loving ways O Lord. Their lives are a testimony of what it is to live outside of Your will, as Creator of all things. The sorrow they bear, reminds me that everything is in Your hands O Most High God, Adonai. To You alone be the glory, honor and praise. Amen.
