too many guns

Too many guns,
More unhinged people.
Need more guns for all.
Many people will die.
Nothing will be done,
Politicians lie.
Offering prayer.
No one wants to try.

To end this madness.
Our daily carnage.
The NRA has gall.
Just so much sadness.
And more useless thoughts.
Just too much badness.
Victims can’t say bye.
Many gun ghosts cry.

Required Poetry Form: OCTAMETER

Each line has a syllable count of 5. The set rhyme scheme is a/b/c/d/e/d/f/d g/h/c/g/i/g/d/d.

Example:

Sweet little angel
fill my heart with joy;
let me feel the love
you will give today.
In your shining eyes,
bright as sunshine’s ray
you bring me delight
every day.

Filled with loving grace,
you enrich my soul;
God’s gift from above,
I’ll always embrace it.
Your smile warms my heart
when I see your face;
as I watch you play
from me do not stray.
