Only About a Thousand

Earlier today at work I only wrote about a thousand words total for my novel, Professional Eliminators. It should have been at least around twelve hundred words. If not a little bit more than that. After all, that’s the way it has been the last few days. Why wasn’t it earlier today? There are two reasons why it wasn’t.

The main reason why is that I watched the final two-and-a-half-hour movie of MASH. I was planning on doing some writing on this novel while I watched this movie. And I did do a little bit on it. But mostly I didn’t because instead of concentrating on my novel I was concentrating more on this movie. As a result, minus about two hundred words.

Reason number two is that I had a little bit of trouble with writing a section of the second part of this chapter. I would like to blame it on MASH. But I can’t do that. This happened after I finished watching MASH. Don’t know why. But I didn’t know how to write what I wanted to write. It was only a few paragraphs. But those few paragraphs took me a lot of time to figure out.

I knew what I wanted to write. Just not how I wanted to write it. It took me several rewrites to figure it out. More than once it was a complete rewrite. But for some, it was just a slight rewrite. These two reasons are the reason why I only got about a thousand words written for this novel. A lot more than I thought that I would get because of these two reasons.

Wanted to get a lot more written earlier at work. But I didn’t. Hopefully, I will continue doing this good or better when I go back to work on Wednesday aka Thursday morning. Until then, I have a WDC Short Story to write. That’s what I’m going to be trying to do over the next three days during my days off.

Hope that I can get it finished in the next three days. But considering what time I have had to write during my days off from work, I’m not going to count on anything until it happens. After all, I haven’t had too much time to do any writing during my days off. Of course, that was my novel. Hopefully, it will be different for this Short Story.
