Under a thin layer of pasted smiles
Lives a heart broken beyond repair.
Feet are blistered and bloody
From walking across eggshells
And shattered dreams.
Days slide into nights.
Time passes on a slow steamer
Percolating, as anger writhes
And swings its unsuspecting
Words and fists
At the innocent victims
Who are caught within the web
Of deceit and like deer...
Are paralyzed by Fear.

These darkest secrets bind us
And keep us gripped within their despair.
