Cupid - your bow is tainted. Dipped in venom - dark and forlorn. You've opened a chasm....One of broken dreams. Gone off to leave the two thinking all is bliss and sweetness. But this Love only smiles sweetly It covers a wounded heart One that will strike out like a viper And take down all that once seemed... truly perfect. The woman wants to save - to lift the man up beyond his vile beginnings, But she does not realize that ugliness is a stain that cannot be washed away. In time, it will drag her down into the mire Push her under, try to break her will, and bury her alive. You, Cupid, have spread this toxicity. You have spread the illusion of love - painting a glorified picture A picture that now peels and frays at the edges. This love you conjured only knows how to use and abuse; It only knows how to destroy; It only knows how to take the façade and tarnish it Pulling what appears lovely into decay and darkness Damning both woman and man to the flames of hell And a life in purgatory.
