H. 1 It's My Own Invention H.1
Prompt: Study the poem Haddock's Eyes or is The Aged, Aged Man or perhaps it was actually Ways and Means or ah yes! A Sitting On A Gate! What ever the case, write your own stanza in the same style. {minimum 3 stanzas}

I saw an old lady sitting on her steps,
petting her black cat with green, bewitching eyes,
She asked was I expecting to see Johnny Depp?
Don't I wish! I just offered her a strawberry pie.
She ate the pie and asked me to join her on the bridge,
She pointed to the sky and rainbows appeared with a bang!
A little fairy flew to the bridge, her name was Midge.
A wolf came along, looked at me, bearing his long fangs.

The wolf ran up to me,with the cat riding on his back.
The wolf let me pet him then he howled at the moon.
The old lady spit on the ground, morals she lacked.
It was still daytime, it started to rain and it was noon.
The old lady handed me a locket but it was all cracked.
I opened the locket and it played a intriguing tune.
It was a lovely song and the next thing I knew I got smacked!
I fell backwards, fainted and woke up holding a balloon.

The old lady said I had been smacked by a ferret!
The ferret ran off with a vase full of red flowers,
The old lady danced around eating a big, orange carrot.
She handed me a key and said this key had magical powers,
I held the key and it lit up. I knew this key had merit.
I felt so peaceful and I had the key to change all the hours,
No matter what happened in my life, I knew I could always bear it.
The world was at peace and the peace was sealed with a meteor shower.
