Prompt: What is the one thing nobody tells you about _______?

This is a strange prompt for me. I don't have a good answer. I can just think of one thing that has been bothering me lately.

My grandson is in the Marines. I really want to send him a note, a letter, or a package. He is the one I went to visit last December. That ill-fated trip on the train, the miserable trip with my daughter and my grandchildren. Well, anyway...

Since I got back to Montana, I wanted to send him a note. I want to keep in touch. Tell him how proud I am of him. Let him know I think of him, pray for his safety. But I don't have an address. So I ask his mother, my daughter, for his address.

But I get no information. No, he doesn't have an address per mom.

I am confused. How is this possible, I think. People got mail in the Civil War, in WWI, in WWII, in Viet Nam. How can he not get mail in San Diego?

So that is the one thing nobody is telling me. So call me confused in Montana.
