Glorious Days of the Stump

A tree stump lay lifeless along the field.
Worthlessly sitting there while being concealed
And swallowed up slowly by the mead.
A lump on the ground that no one needs.

Dare not say, "because you never know."
The great things this stump can do.

At noon, a weary farmer from his quest.
Sat down and placed his temple to rest.

Uproot this lump and bring it to your lawn
Then a cold sparkling wine will rest upon.

Perhaps a spot for your favorite succulents?
Or a perfect table for your birthday presents?

If you cut it into thicker slates, it's guaranteed.
You'll have a board for your cutting needs.

If you want some artwork for your wall
Have it polished, add flowerettes, then install.

But if you just want it to retire
It's the perfect wood for a night's campfire.
