My Red Journal
My Red Journal

This is my red journal,
my crimson diary,
and my heart's record

This is the almanac of my soul's blood,
the register of my profound longings,
and the transcription of my deepest desires.

It is the chronicle of my primal fears,
the account of my transformation,
and the document of my metamorphosis.

It is the log of my new birth,
the legend of the wanderer,
and the tale of the lover.

This is the journey written in the crimson ink of faith,
the story of my soul rising out of the mire of matter,
and the history of my travels through the valley of my heart's desire.

This is the narrative of the seeker,
the memoir of the sinner,
and the manuscript of my surrender to the Beloved.

It is the parable of the battle between my soul and my ego,
the saga of the war between my lower and my higher natures,
and the celebration of my victory over insistent self.

Each entry is a victory,
a triumph in the process of letting go
and of letting God take over.

Each entry is the conquest of fear,
the mastery of my soul over my ego,
and the subjection of my animal nature to my spiritual nature.

Each entry is the steeling of a dispute between love and hate,
a description of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly,
and the epic of an earth bound creature becoming a denizen of outer space.

Each entry is a stepping stone,
a victory for Baha'u'llah,
and a poem about sadness becoming joy.
