A watchful eye [Week 24 entry]

A watchful eye


Mother Nature follows closely,
watching ev'ry byway,
taking note of human wand'rers
on each path and broadway.

Careless children wander slowly,
stumbling into dens, nests.
Mothers brandish beak and claw to
keep their young safe from pests.

Mother Nature keeps her children
undercover, hidden,
lest a human find their home and
take them out unbidden.
