The Daily Poem: Day 1 - On the Wings of Prayer
On the Wings of Prayer
It is not the darkness, but the absence of light
that sends chills across my trembling spirit,
and causes my quaking soul to take flight;
that causes it to ascend on prayer's wings
seeking the gate to salvation.
Seeking the gate that opens to to the bright
joy of the garden of paradise,
that lays beyond my body's limited sight.
