Day 4 - On the Beach

Hello travelers!

Happy Thursday!!!! Today we will enjoy a beautiful day in Grand Cayman! This will be the last shore excursion before a day at sea and returning to Ft. Lauderdale tomorrow, so make the most of your time.

I hope everyone is having a great time, getting plenty to eat and drink. Below is your daily prompt. Oh, before I forget, I hear there was quite a spectacle in the dining room last night! Was it you? What happened?

Day 4: Georgetown, Grand Cayman
Grand Cayman is world-renowned for its pristine beaches, wildlife, and relaxed atmosphere. Lounge on the award-winning Seven Mile Beach, a paradisiacal stretch of sand on the island’s western coast. Take your family to swim with stingrays, dolphins, and turtles, or snorkel amidst tropical fish. Sample the local rum and take a moment to soak in the stunning Caribbean vistas all around you.

Ugh, 86 degrees and 71% humidity today!
Here's a list of refreshing cocktails you may want to try today: 8 Cocktails You Must Try While Visiting Cayman

I woke with a headache and wondering where my dress and shoes were. Did Andre take everything I own? The cabin is bare. My purse is gone, my clothes are gone. Lucky for me I had stashed my small billfold under my pillow. I had to go to breakfast in my underwear and an artfully draped towel. It was hot, so no one noticed as they were also in their bathing suits.

At breakfast everyone was talking about last night. To tell you the truth, I don’t remember much. Just finally falling into bed. Literally falling. But Lazy Writer est 4/24/2008 Author IconMail Icon said there are pictures of me dancing on the table. With PiriPica Author IconMail Icon. Wonderful. I pray this incident doesn’t come back to bite me.

I decided today would be a beach day. I went to the famous Seven Mile Beach. But it’s only 5.5 miles long. What? Then why call it Seven Mile? Curious.

I figured I could walk the beach up and down the length, get my steps in for the day. Walk off the hangover. But then I spied a distillery, Cayman Spirits Company.

I figured a sip of their finest would help the headache. And who do you suppose I saw inside? That’s right! Andre, sitting at a table with Richard ~ Thankful!! Author IconMail Icon, Brother Nature Author IconMail Icon, and Kåre เลียม Enga Author IconMail Icon. They didn’t even notice me. But I sure did notice Andre. He was wearing one of my shirts and my sandals. And he somehow got that pink bucket hat with the flamingoes back. Or did he buy a new one on Key West? And by the way, how did the guys find Kåre เลียม Enga Author IconMail Icon? Is he traveling again?

I chose the Seven Mile Breeze. (Named for the lovely stretch of white sand, the Seven Mile Breeze is a combination of local vodka, cranberry juice and grapefruit juice, all poured over ice in a tall glass and garnished with a lime.) Maybe they should rename it the Five and a Half Mile Breeze. Or perhaps name the drink ‘Shoot the Breeze’.

Yeah, well, I’m here all afternoon folks. Having fun on the beach with Andre and his new-found friends. But after lying for awhile in the sun, my pasty-white Montana skin really needs some sunscreen. So I found this place, ‘Now and Zen Spa’.

They hooked me up with a massage and detox. I felt so good after all that, and scored some sunscreen as well. I went to pay and found that my second credit card is now missing. ANDRE!!!
That little pirate! I’ll bet he took it. I can’t prove he did, but knowing that monkey boy like I do now, the deck is stacked against him.

I’d like to go swim with the sting-rays. But I remember how that didn’t turn out so well for the Aussie guy. So I pass on that and find something I can do. It reminds me of home.

I rode Blue, the perfect gentleman the ad said. Finally, I found one.

We gallop along the beach, through the sea, then it was time to head back to the ship. It’s back to Ft. Lauderdale tomorrow. I wonder what will happen onboard tonight. Last night was quite fun. Just as long as someone puts Andre in his place.
