Always Ask God First
It was 26 years ago today that I graduated from high school. That makes me start to feel old. Should I feel this old at 44? In my mind, I am still young. My body says, “Yeah, you wish! Lol

Take UP Your Cross

Prompt:
Proverbs 3:7-8
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

What does it mean to be wise in my own eyes? What do these verses mean?

Answer:
Consider the fact of what 2 verses come right before this. Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust in the Lord and lean not unto your own understanding In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path. Then we are to fear the Lord and depart from evil. Don't be wise in your own eyes or lean unto your own understanding. It doesn't matter how much you think you know or understand. Always talk to God first. Put away pride. God will either confirm your wisdom or reveal hidden foolishness. God looks at the intention of the heart. He will direct your path.

PROMPT May 20th

What does happiness mean to you? Reflect back on a specific moment when you felt unconditionally happy. What circumstances made you feel that way?

Not everyone has had the privilege of this experience. Happiness doesn't come to some as easily as others. Some people literally have to put forth huge efforts just to be a little happy. They say happiness is a choice.

When you add that descriptive word of unconditional, this is even harder to achieve. I ask myself if I even know what “unconditional” happiness is. I am not even sure I can answer that appropriately. I will tell you what I think it is. I think it is a state of happiness where you remain happy even when bad things happen. It is a secure happiness.

I believe as a Christian, I should be able to achieve this state, but I don't know that I have completely been there yet. God is still working on me. I think the closest I have ever come to this is when my faith in Christ is activated and I have a peace that passes all understanding and a knowing that everything will be okay no matter what because God has got this.

Scripture writing - John 16:31-33

Scripture:
31 Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?
32 Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Observations:
Verse 31- Good question. Do you believe?
Verse 32- People may abandon us, but God is always with us.
Verse 33- Jesus wants us to have peace. He knows we will have trials and tribulations, but through him we have the victory.

Application:
Jesus wants us to be at peace and in good cheer. He wants us to be happy. He overcame the world so we can have life more abundantly.

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Let me feel your presence and know I am not alone in this world. It is one thing to know something but another to feel it. I want to feel it.
In Jesus’s name,
Amen

Prompt: "Books are a uniquly portable magic." Stephen King Write about this quote in your Blog entry today.

I don't understand that statement personally unless it has to do with a story being able to take you to another time and place mentally and emotionally.

Today we cruised the outer rim, crossed the galactic plain, and reentered the galaxy. Sitting there in the sector was a lovely star we hadn't discovered. laurafu (49) writes to her daughter in vitro. If you were an expectant mother, what would you say to your child?

This one is kind of a difficult one for me at the moment. I can't say everything I would want to say to the child because I will get all emotional. I am emotional enough at the moment. I won’t go into my reasons why right now. I would let them know that I loved them, and I would promise to do my best. That is about as far as I can go with this. It is a touchy subject for me.

Lucky you, you're interviewing someone to be your personal assistant. What qualities and qualifications would you look for? For the prompt write 3 questions you would ask them and why?

1. What do you hope to accomplish by working with me? Maybe I can help them achieve their goals too.

2. Why do you want to work with/for me? It will tell you if they really want to be there or not.

3. What is your opinion of my company? This will tell you if they believe in what you are doing and what they think about it.
