The Real Story of Jack And HIs Beanstalk
Everyone knows the story of old;
the one that all of us have been told.
But do you know the real story,
the one where Jack climbed up a tree.
No beanstalk, that's just a fantasy.
Come along I'll tell it right, tell the tale for all to see.

Now that tree did shoot up over night.
They say an earthquake caused it's plight.
Shot to the sky, up beyond the clouds,
far above the gathering crowds.
Only one small boy dared, that tree to climb.
He made his way up, took him all the day time.

There was no giant, no house immense.
The place was deserted beyond the fence.
Jack wandered over the dusty place,
until he found a broken space.
He slipped through and found a land,
where melancholy reaching out, grabbed his hand.
She would not let him leave or go;
She dragged him 'round both to and fro.
Jack, his spirits failing fast,
tried to ran, to make a dash,
but Sad Sally refused to budge.
She held on tight with such a grudge.
She made him promise he'd take her away,
he agreed to save her in hopes she'd play
And forget about his feeble promise.
He knew his plan was none too flawless,
but gladdened when her vice grip eased.
He dipped and curtsied, his pout the truth;
he hoped it would mend her and make things smooth,
as he backed away, then turned to run...
He had once imagined this adventure to be fun,
but now he only saw the horror;
and so ended his days as an explorer.
Upon his return, a tale was spun
A beanstalk planted, a fable won.
