I. Alice's Evidence - #2. "UNimportant Things"
Unconditional
As I thought about one thing I used to consider important, I immediately remembered: coloring my hair. Too expensive. I decided some years ago to embrace my gray hair. I used to go to a salon to have it done. The coloring process they used was gentle, and didn’t irritate my scalp like at-home box colors did.
When you live so far from a major city, and choose not to go to said city more than once a month, if that, getting your hair taken care of can be a challenge. Add to that reality the fact I have allergies to haircare products. I go to a specialty salon. A haircut there is pricey, but I can afford to do it every six to eight weeks. Now that we are on a fixed income with no real jobs, hair color seems like a luxury I can do without.
My husband loves me, no matter what. Gray hair and all. In fact, at one time, he loved me with no hair at all.
