"March 7, 2018"      Prompt: "This is Women's History Month, write something about a women in history. What was her contribution to human history and/or culture?"Women have played many valuable roles throughout history. As a Christian I am most interested in the rolles women have played in the history of the church. I think of many of the great women of the Bible. If it weren't for Leah and Rachel many of the events surrounding the nation of Israel could not have taken place. Deborah was a great leader after the formation of the nation of Israel and led the nation to a great victory over an opposing army. I also think of Hannah, the mother of Samuel whom Eli mistakenly thought to be drunk because he witnessed her fervent prayer to God prior to her conception of Samuel. Then of course there was the young virgin in Judea whom we now call the Virgin Mary. Her only wish was "Let it be done to me according to your words." Women have often played vital roles throughout history and I am glad society is beginning to recognize their contribution.   |
