The February 10, 2015 30DBC prompt is "In an ironic twist, a dog really ate your homework. When you try to explain this to your teacher she says, "Come on, you can do better than that excuse." Instead of arguing, you take that as a challenge and come up with an elaborate story as to what happened to your homework. There will be an additional drawing for a merit badge for the most creative entry. Let us hear it"

I really did have a dog eat my homework and had several witnesses confirm it for the teacher. The teacher still refused to believe it thinking I had played off the old cliche' to avoid doing my homework. So I made up a heck of a story. Let me see if I can remember it. know I told her I had spent the night with a combat unit on patrol in Southeast Asia until we ended up in a fire fight with a group of aliens. The aliens won and took us all prisoner. Apparently they were very hungry and on a weird diet. They took away every piece of paper we had ate it, including my homework. I told her that if she didn't believe me she could contact NASA who had a ship we captured and the US Army who would confirm my story.

She gave me an A for having the most original story.
