Scraps and scribbles from 1960 - 2015 |
You gaze at me with deep longing Searching for answers, reaching into my soul In your eyes filled with light and dancing with possibility I see golden dreams spun on pools of amber. Sweet music wafts and tugs at my heartstrings. Your strong arms encircle me I feel safe and warm. You are my shelter from life storms You are my light in the harbor. You come bearing gifts – strength, solace, compassion, friendship Kindness and humor – your eyes betray your mirth! Familiar, comfortable, a page from my past Like a character from a book coming to life You offer me love, my knighted one. Your kisses unwrap a longing in my soul Your passion consumes me My body aches for you, desires you. And you provide with one touch Infinite magical moments. My soul bursts into the light and soars above the harbor. You play me, again and again Like a familiar tune, my body responds Arcing with pleasure and desire For this intoxicating gift And I am happy, I feel loved. With dawn’s light, I see in an instant, one passionate moment A glimmer of another, a family resemblance so strong Leaves me breathless; it is too much to bear It overpowers my heart; I no longer soar. Parched and thirsty I drink from your cup Over and over, hoping to be fulfilled But it is never quite enough to overcome The memory of that moment And slowly your gifts begin to fade. You are cousin, kith and kin. You are no longer welcomed within. Harbor lights are fading, growing dim I hear your words, I can not speak For I do not want the light to die Yet, it was I who said good-bye. Copyright tuc 10/14/10 |
