The early years entry to give 100 blogs
During the forties and fifties when I was a child the dark nights were exciting and My friends and I played some mischievous pranks
we raided gardens and puled suede which in Scotland is called turnips. Someone always had a pocket knife to slice them to eat. Other nights we would tie two door handles of the houses in the street and knock the doors and run, but hid where we could watch the antics of the owners of the houses trying to get their doors open and eventually somebody would come out their back door to untie the rope.
Today I'm a retired person and spend a lot of time in the garden
and I often think back of those days when I raided garden for the turnips. I would hate anyone to come to me and raid mine.
