War Cheat Wednesday: Lifelong Learning
It's War Cheat Wednesday! The November 13, 2013 prompt for "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUSOpen in new Window. is
Lifelong Learning. Does learning ever stop? Is there a point at which humans can no longer learn something new, or is the capacity to learn infinite?
What is something you learned today? How about yesterday?

Does learning ever stop? No! Learning is innate in human beings. If we did not continue to learn something new about ourselves, our world, or the universe, the human soul and mind would atrophy. They would die because of lack of exercise.

Is there a point at which humans can no longer learn something new, or is the capacity to learn infinite? The human capacity to learn is infinite, but it is dependent upon desire and encouragement. We need to learn to exercise our minds and souls; however, if a person does not want to learn something new then learning is impossible.

What is something you learned today? Today I learned that the only reason for a sane or insane writer to get up at 4:00 am is to write. I also learned that sanding in line for one or two hour and then sitting in a hard chair for another two or three hours causes my back to hurt and depression to raise its ugly head. It also makes me tired and discourages me from doing anything that I have to do. I have to force myself to accomplish my goals when I am tired, but since I am not sleepy I cannot lay down and go to sleep.

How about yesterday? That no matter how long or short the day the sun eventually descends behind Mount Charleston or whatever the name of the beautiful snow capped peak in the west that first comes between Las Vegas and the sun. I have to confess that I am not sure if the western range of the Muddy Mountains, which I think are called the Spring Mountains, have snow or not. I have not bother to look in that direction for several days and, while I did have to drive west on East Charleston this morning, I was too busy watching the traffic around me to look at the mountains. I did not get a chance or take the time to look in that direction yesterday either.

Quote of the Day: “Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.” - Henry Ford
