Exhausted Like Me
Sad dregs of coffee, you have seethed all day
in your tarnished fat-bellied pot.
I see the pink beans jump like elephants,
the curtains are yet to descend.
While I fill my hesitant cup
with your red-brown syrupy end,
I know that you're exhausted,
like me.
