Going Green


I look at my front yard; I see the weeds growing green and wild.
I live in drought stricken Las Vegas, not the Amazon jungle.
The yardman returns on Wednesday, with my desert landscaping.

Line count: 3
Form: A Sijo is a three-line poem with 14 to 16 syllables in each line and a total syllable count of 44 to 46 syllables. It is acceptable to split lines in half for formatting reason; therefore, a six-line sijo is acceptable.
Line 1 introduces a situation or problem.
Line 2 suggests a solution or conclusion that normally begins with a surprise.
Line 3 releases tension or resolves problem with a memorable ending.
