Il pleure (poem). We R puddle-luscious, aujourd'hui.
Il pleure ici. Trois jours de la pluie = Three days of rain. We R puddle-luscious, aujourd'hui. We've only had about three inches. But ... there is some local flooding in this county; a few roads are closed. Areas of South East Kansas have had over 12 inches. Erie is an island as the Neosho River has left the levees and sought to flow elsewhere.

Il pleure

it rains
it rains
it rains

Rains some days, today, tomorrow.

Rained sweetly over his town
young Rimbaud said,
and Verlaine wrote a verse for him.

il pleure
il pleure
il pleure

Il pleure dans mon coeur
comme il pleut sur la ville.

Who weeps for me this darksome day?
Who fills these puddles?

The poem of Paul Verlaine from Romances sans paroles:

III

Il pleut doucement sur la ville (Arthur Rimbaud)

Il pleure dans mon coeur
Comme il pleut sur la ville;
Quelle est cette langueur
Qui pénètre mon coeur?

O bruit doux de la pluie
Par terre et sur les toits!
Pour un coeur qui s'ennuie
O le chant de la pluie!

Il pleure sans raison
Dans ce coeur qui s'écoeure
Quoi! nulle trahison?...
Ce deuil est sans raison.

C'est bien la pire peine
De ne savoir pourquoi
Sans amour et sans haine
Mon coeur a tant de peine!

One of my favorites poems. *Bigsmile*

Drawing the day down

Drawing the day down early,
this sky lays shuttered to itself.
What blues caress the tops of clouds
is not seen here.
It's dreary.
This day draws down,
these shutters close,
the ground groans weary.

Wet.

Splash.

A baby rabbit; paw-prints in wet sand; a delta of sand on top of mud; white anemone; the dry-stone-lake in the park still dry; dry leaves in the entry of the antique shop.

LYRIC THOUGHTS:

Dancing through the dew drops past the Drop Dead Inn ...

... and on the shores of Shoh, we hermaphroditic slugs in lust, our ooze cementing grains of sands.

Nightsong for two Aggies in love: Yet, here we sit, marooned cadets, gazing across the military knights between us. (for Texas A&M)

When sulphuric acid flows from eyes and hearts, our diamonds do not last forever.
