Through the eyes of a writer and traveler 😁! Life and some spiritual musings. |
This past week I was " Blog-stuffing". Not sure if it's a word but for now it is! I usually go to my blog and just write ✍️😉. Not always sure exactly 🤔 what my topic is or where it will lead but just go with the flow! The past two weeks I've been saving my posts to Doc's or color notes app on my phone. Today I did the proofing for Blogging Bliss newsletter and it's another wonderful issue! As always Wordsmitty brings great insight on Blogging and tips that are useful! Showcasing Blogs on WDC 😉 so come and check it out tomorrow! Sorry,p Last week I didn't feel great, having argued about how much meds I have to take and the whole foods situation. What is safe to make? After having normal dinner for couple weeks, 2 things didn't totally agree with me. Not terrible but I noticed in the middle of the night on the way to the lady's room! A slight irritation in my stomach. Next morning I had to mention it and she got worried that I'm not healing yet and don't want to set me back. So back to smoothies and pancakes for breakfast with blueberries and bacon 🥓. Tomorrow I'm going to try to convince her to let me make breaded pork chops. It didn't bother me last time! Ugh that's why I didn't write much this has taken over my life and I want my life back! On the other side I had a lot of soul-searching and some crisis of faith. I didn't know much about Pope Francis in the past 12 years or all the good he did. That he turned down pomp and splendor for a simple guest house and sharing lunch with everyday people like janitors and store owners and making friends forever... I was helping to raise our grandkids and learn about special needs to help our family be ok. I was also learning about my Jewish roots and things I didn't learn as a kid. I wanted to be a Nun about 7 or 8, after watching the b/w version of Our Lady of Fatima.( On the late-show on TV) My aunt wasn't happy when I told her. She said " Little Jewish girls can't become Nuns!" That was the end of the conversation even when I asked why. Later in life I learned about Edith Stein a Jew who became an atheist but became a good Nun for the rest of her life! I heard about Pope Francis in passing but until he went into the hospital this spring, I didn't pay attention. I read about him and wanted to pray for him. The Vatican had a story about his health and, I subscribed to the newsletter. Easter I watched the news and saw him with the crowds at St Peter's. I knew his Doctor's didn't want him near crowds... But that's who he was. He gave his all to help others and he brought so much joy to others and not all were Catholic. I watched the Funeral Mass and saved links about who he was. A simple man who loved people and didn't judge. He saw people, not how much money or color or all the things that some people see and keep them apart from others. Rest his soul 🙏❤️. |
