Dealing with UPS
March 26, 2025
My bone to pick today is that UPS sent my package back to the sender.
I have a cell phone which is my son's account and he pays for the service. He recently got a new phone and ordered one for me. Yesterday I came home from playing cards with friends and found a note on my door that UPS had been there to deliver a package (phone) but I was not there to sign for it. I could go pick it up (by the time I go home, UPS was closing), or I could go on site and communicate to them to deliver at a certain time and day, which I did. I let them know I would be home the next day, all day, and asked for delivery that day.
So, today, being the next day, I check the tracking number and the site tells me my phone was on its way back to the sender.
I called the number given to me on the door posting, and did get a live body to speak to. The man at UPS stated it was not their doing but that the package was requested for return back to the sender. So, if this is true, Verizon gave me only one shot at getting my package. I didn't get much chance to do anything about it. I could not intercept the package even at an intermediate UPS station. So my new unseen phone was on its way back to its original shipping site! THIS SUCKS!
I know that they want to be sure the package gets in the right hands. But, really, one day attempt!
