Eternity is So Long
"Humans are basically good." I've heard this expression many times. Those, who believe this without any doubt, cite the humanitarian good of people, who risk their own safety to pull others out of burning cars or burning buildings, and the firefighter, who stayed with a child, who was trapped under an overturned semi-tractor trailer until the child could be freed from the danger.
What happens when the danger you see is eternal, and the trap is the thoughts of some human's mind, that disagrees with the very plain declarations of Scripture?
The Scripture declares, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” (Hebrews 9:27, KJV)
However, many profess, "I don't believe God will send anyone to Hell."
Who am I to believe? The God, Who always Exists, creating and sustaining all things (Colossians 1-2) or some human, who has lived less than 100 years, receiving his or her every breath and heartbeat from the same said God?
I can't strong-arm someone to "pray the Sinner's Prayer" because praying a prayer can't save anybody. Besides, who's to say the person wouldn't say the prayer to "get him off my back."
I can't save anybody, including myself, but The Lord of All can save anyone He chooses at the very moment He chooses to save, that dear soul.
"For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy." (Romans 9:15-16, KJV)
