Axieatax: anxiety + taxes; The feeling that permeates a house as someone does their taxes, sort of a mix of quiet panic and exasperation over having to follow directions that make little to no sense. Bigable: bigger + mutable; The quality found in the ability of an object to get bigger—like a balloon. Buffart: burp + fart; The process of creating a stink by burping the air from a colostomy bag. Chittersation: chatter + twitter + conversation; A conversation between sisters (or sisters of the heart), filled with half sentences and inside jokes and absolutely nothing that means anything to anyone except the people involved. Glinkle: glimmering + tinkle: The sound a wind chime makes. Or the sound of the stars on a clear, cool night. Petrifreak: petrify + shriek; The feeling at the end of a nightmare as the sleeper realizes that she can't move and can't scream, but she really wants too and so she wakes up. Polligraine: pollen + migraine; A long and lasting headache that happens every spring when the world is full of pollen because everything is blooming, and that has triggered allergies and it just won't go away because painkillers and allergy meds are just not strong enough to handle pollen thick enough to see, and can't someone fix this for me, please? Squmishy: squish + mushy; The feeling of wet sock inside wet shoe after accidentally stepping in a puddle with a muddy bottom. Yangle: yarn + tangle; The mess yarn gets in after being in a bag by itself for too long, especially if a cat gets involved. Zephluter: zephyr + flute; The haunting sound of pan pipes being carried by a breeze. |
