B1 Curiouser and Curiouser

B1. "Curiouser and Curiouser" – Stranger things have happened, so why not share the most curious thing that's ever happened to you. Alice would definitely empathize. (<500 words)

I have had a few strange things happen while driving. One time I was on the way to work, driving down the interstate. (We had an old beater car at the time, with my previous husband.) Well, as I drove along I suddenly saw a tire fly by. Hmm. Then my car started going all wonky and I realized it was MY tire/wheel. So I pull over.

The next time, years later, I am driving again on an interstate when suddenly my windshield shatters. No warning, just total cracked windshield. I was on my way to a seminar. (This is also the year I was in 4 auto accidents, none of them my fault, by the way.) So I missed the seminar, had to call my husband, and get towed back 50 miles. Turns out others also had problems that same time. It was a piece of metal in the road.

So I don’t have a good history with cars. It might be a good thing we don’t have one right now. I’d probably find a weird way to trash it.
