Resolutions - Week Three
Here are the two prompts for Week Three
Prompt # One: I hereby resolve to get a job.
Andre say's "Not Likely".
Ha - well Andre - the yolk's on you, as they say. I have two prospects. One's paid, one's not. Both are newspapers. I go for an interview Friday this week for the local rag, been around since 1908 or so. It's pretty sad now, only about 5 pages. And it gets competition from a copy paper thing people love put out by a local guy. I personally like the regular newspaper, just because it's on newsprint, not copied on someone's printer in their doublewide trailer home and driven to the subscribers in his beat-up SUV. But that's just my bias. I guess people want the junky newsletter style. So I will go talk to the publisher, see what the deal is. I like to write and perhaps get paid for the fun of doing so.
The other job I pretty much have in the bag is for the Montana group of churches I belong to. One of the pastors is the communication leader. He has the idea of doing a state-wide newspaper for all 4,000 members. I'm not sure how this will pan out, and what this person wants as content. But I'm willing to go along with it. I like to write, and will willingly do it free for church.
So, two jobs. One pays, one doesn't. Time will tell.
I hereby resolve to take better care of my teeth.
Anfre pronounces teeth as teef.
I'm already doing this. I have 'invisible-a-lign' braces working now, correcting years of crowding in my mouth. They really do work, folks. And I have never had such clean teeth in all my life. You have to wear these clear plastic retainer-type devices for at least 22 hours a day, take them out to eat or drink. Then I brush my teeth before I reinsert them. I wear each set, top and bottom, for 2 weeks, then change to a new set. I am about 1/2 way through the process, and am really noticing a difference. It's amazing what this process can do. It's not cheap, but then, keeping your real teeth is worth every penny. Nothing is as good as the teeth you were born with. Brush them. floss them, go to the dentist people. I've not been good in the past, but I am sure taking care of them now.
