My Blog. Generally Intended for Reading-Not Eating!.
Rose-Tinted Ramblings

** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only **

A Little of What You Might Expect & A Lot of Everything Else that You Don't!.

My writing style for my blog is invariably 'snarkastic'. This is because I am a nice, unassuming and quietly-spoken person IRL-and this blog is where my innermost moments and torments happen. Trust me, I am no exception to that delightful rule.

Greetings!

Welcome to my THIRD blog here on WDC. A re-incarnation of my earlier version of my Blog, here "Insanties and Sensibilities" this v.03 should prove to be equally...challenging and hopefully, entertaining. That said, life often weaves through our writing in mysterious ways, and this Blog will probably prove to be no exception to that. We are very likely all quite different, yet the same, us writers and our collective little whims, fascinations and insecurities.

September 24, 2008.

Whether the Weather be: 60 (F) Sunny.
Events of Note: I'm so good that I squeak...yeah, I know...I don't believe me, either.
In the Nudes: "We must do this my fellow citizens" GWB on averting the economic downturn/disaster/meltdown/catastrophe/slow-down-or whatever you think it is.

*Balloon1* FYI-this entry is "Take One-Have a Kit-Kat." I'll be sure and let you know by its conclusion, how many screw-ups I made today, while writing it. Today, I swept, mopped, raked leaves, pulled weeds, cleared outdoor debris, did dishes, laundry [multiple loads], cleaned out "Beanie"'s toybox, my closet and the laundry room. I even managed to read and comment in a few blogs, here. Go me!. Do I rock, or what?. I missed the second episode of this season of "House" last night. I'll rent it out, eventually.

*Balloon3* My thanks to all who stopped by here and left supportive comments.

Menu tonight: Fish, and old-fashioned apple puddin'. Mmmmm...

September 23, 2008..

Whether the Weather be: 48 (F) Cold and clear-fall is definitely here.
Events of Note: This is the third version of this blog entry for today. I'm losing my cool [never a good sign-I can be an A+ Bitch *Angry*].
In the Nudes: School shooting tragedy in Finland.

*Flower1* Ordinarily, my photographic memory is somewhat useful and I usually fly by my pants (as well as write free-flow) with these blog entries, and just cannot be bothered with the whole "Save and Edit" BS. However, today, a migraine headache triggered difficulties with my electrical brain activity, which meant that my left hand was suddenly wandering uninvited all over my computer keyboard. Every move my right hand made was mirrored by my left in some weird way. In addition, my balance mechanism just isn't working well today - my ataxia - is in hyper-uber-drive. Which makes walking anywhere a little precarious, since I have absolutely no warning when my balance witch is going to suddenly land me squarely on my backside. My dark side might usually find this mildly amusing, but I'm not in the mood. I'm frustrated, and pissy, and probably in need of a good spew at the moment, truth be told. This isn't something that I can take a vacation from, and no medication is going to make it better. My brain isn't going to miraculously heal. I shouldn't be complaining-I have speech, sight, hearing and above-average intelligence, all of which lets be slightly high-functioning. I'm not complaining. Not much *Laugh* Today's entry has taken 3 hours to type -so, you'd better appreciate it, lol. Some days are like this, and I simply have to celebrate the little victories wherever and whenever I can.

*Flower3* So, in full acknowledgment of my pure stubbornness, I'm going to do some reviewing raids here, while consuming a wonderfully delicious home-grilled hot dawg [one of the ongoing perks of marrying a man who's all domesticated and a chef into the bargain]. Just for the record: he cooks, I clean. He Tarzan, Me, Jane. Yeah, right...Time to get this entry dusted and up on the board before anything ELSE dodgy sabotages me.

Have a great night!.

P.S: Wouldn't you know it?. I posted this and then saw an editorial error. The bastards!.

September 22, 2008.

A family member of mine has viral meningitis and is in the hospital. Thankfully, it's not bacterial meningitis (yes, there is a difference between the two types). Nevertheless, they are feeling pretty miserable. So, I'm sorry if I've been such a slacker in responding to recent as well as not-so-recent blog comments, and just not being as involved here as I would be usually.

Time for a hot tub, a mocha-something and some hot dinner. Man, it's been an awfully long day/night here...

Whether the Weather be: 50 (F) Sunny and relatively mild.
Events of Note: Minor improvements and improvisations...
In the Nudes: China baby milk powder scandal, bombing in Pakistan.

*Flower1* A brief blog, if you will, to say that I've failed to fall of the earth or anything. Just drifting, mostly, pausing to look at the sky. Trying, as much as possible, to keep oblivious and ignorant of getting involved in matters intellectual or otherwise. Have been thinking of and remembering G. His memorial web-group has been deleted, which is disappointing...as well as pointless. Probably because of personal agendas. Even in death, his final rest offers little reprieve. I prefer the Bay bridge on a pretty, sparkly day like today's...at a certain point on the Bay, the GGB appears like a giant, girder-ridden ghost in the mist, and is far less alluring.

*Flower2* Off to make an early night of it, to putz around in my kitchen as it pleases me. I am feeling less overwhelmed, although my physical pain level and accompanying sleep deprivation is something that still needs addressing. Everything on its own terms...

Too tired at the moment, so I'm going to be taking a bit of a sabbatical from here for a short while. I need to sort out getting back on some medication for my C.P., so that I can begin to sleep properly again.

See you soon! *Heart*

Whether the Weather be: 46 (F) Cloudy, misty rain.
Events of Note: Ugly night, pleasant morning.
In the Nudes: Oh, I don't know-everyone's whining about either politics or money.

*Flower1* My brain went batshit, bonkers on me, last night. Couldn't tune out, switch off, nor relax. Finally, at 4:00am, I'd had enough, and slid downstairs to pop two Tylenol. Little wonder why I didn't wake up till 11 this morning. Fortunately, "Beanie" passed out till 12-midday. I need to inject some normalcy into our routine, especially and because of me beginning any sort of consultancy work. When I was in school, I'd be up at 5am, on campus by 8 or 9. More later...

P.S: Gotta love the mentality of marketing people : "---------is the latest secret weapon in this industry!." Right, so why are you emailing ME about it?. Or, better yet, "This product will work overnight!." And, I'll know this HOW, if I'm asleep?. Reminds me of another marketing carrot-"It won't happen overnight-but it will happen."-the perfect default assurance for the eternal optimist in all of us.

Whether the Weather be: 48 (F) Foggy.
Events of Note: I'm bored-lol
In the Nudes: U.S credit crunch jitters, again, still.

*Balloon1* I'm bored. This is not good. Last night, just for "fun"-I sat the MCAT exam. MCAT is the Medical College Admission Test. Multiple choice. Fortunately for me, this was just a sample test. I aced the interpretive and deductive questions, bombed horribly on most of the physics, and aced one question on a parathyroid/excess calcium case. The latter, I aced, because it was covered in an episode of "House" that I watched on DVD, two nights ago. See?. There ARE benefits to my "House" obsession *Laugh* At the moment, I have half an ear on a film called, "Outsourced". "Beanie" likes the Hindu dance music. Yes...it's going to be a long day in the Rainbowapple household.

Whether the Weather be: 52 (F) Cloudy-blasted marine layer!.
Events of Note: Homesickness, but feeling zappy in other ways (fortunately)
In the Nudes: China baby milk scandal-NZ authorities blow the "whistle".

*Flower1* Am doing considerably better, physically. A night's rest can work wonders that way. Waves of peripheral homesickness though. Little anxieties and bits of grief appearing. My life here is so different compared with what I had. Yes, I can work for the Federal government and potentially earn quite a lot, but there's a catch (isn't there always?)-gaining my U.S citizenship-which, frankly, I find mildly insulting, but this is the government, in whom we trust, after all, and they are entitled to make up their own rules, which they do with impunity. Double-catch-I'm, not 'eligible' for citizenship, yet. So, I'll have to find something else, in the meantime. Oh, and helping people is a lovely ideal, but it doesn't pay the bills. I'm not asking for a lot, but since I have three college degrees, two technical college certifications, a professional membership, and 5 years experience, I want a little fizz for my time. Next...

*Flower3* I'm off to steal a Rice Krispie treat from the kitchen, before my husband catches me. Isn't it great that two of Blogville's absolute BESTEST (sorry, CC) women have met up at last?.

September 13, 2008.

Whether the Weather be: 48 (F) Foggy, cloudy, cool.
Events of Note: Still feeling sifty-something virulent, perchance?.
In the Nudes: Russian plane crash, LA train wreck..

*Flower1* Well, my day was fairly remarkably unremarkable. After my 'soda' breakfast, I went and got my promised frap and some raspberry cereal bars because there were no muffins nor pastries. Afterwards, I went upstairs to tackle cleaning our bedrooms. Suddenly, I felt nauseous, clammy/hot cold/lightheaded/congested. Hello virus !. Couldn't locate any "Alleve", so had to settle for some Tylenol, stat. Ack...Not a whole heck of a lot of improvement or productivity, all day. Probably messed with my immunity with all of those early mornings spent with "House". Contemplated apple-juice w/aspirin cocktail, but being asthmatic, aspirin doesn't sit too well with me.

*Flower2* On the +ve, I found my missing necklace-my New Zealand green-stone jewels that my cousin gifted me as a wedding present. Felt so much brighter-something spiritual in that.

*Flower3* My brilliant Friday?. It was brilliant because it was Friday, and because I indulged in all matters indulgent...and it was extremely decadent, and quite possibly [not erroneously] naughty, too. That's all I'll say- any further incrimination might not be a prudent move towards ensuring my continuing ill state of health *Laugh*

Whether the Weather be: 49 (F) Foggy.
Events of Note: It's the weekend!.
In the Nudes: Ike fizzles out.

*Balloon1* Ergh.Late, late night-I mean, early morning. Watched "House" till 1:00am (Hugh Laurie has just signed a deal where he gets paid US$400,000 per episode, some producing credits, and the deal is good till 2012). I digress...Basically, it was 4 in the a.m. before I went to sleep. "Beanie" crawled into our bed at 9 a.m. Got up at 10. Got "Beanie" half of her breakfast, put a "Zim" cartoon on for her (Gothy sci-fi). My breakfast is soda, until I can be motivated and awakened enough to wander down the road to pick up muffins and a frap or two. My MIL will be visiting today, so I'd better get this bomb-site, er, house situated. Yeah, I know, soda is bad, and I'll probably crash in around 30 minutes, but I'll take the zest while I can appreciate it.

More later-all about my brilliant Friday...
