Asher and Mia encounter a virtual reality simulator
Author’s Note: These characters were created by: Cian

Asher was walking down the sidewalk with his cat Mia following closely behind him. A teenage girl with blonde hair wearing a miniskirt about the same age as Asher approached him.

“Would you like to be part of an experiment?” the girl asked.

“What kind of experiment?” Asher asked.

“I can’t give you any details yet,” the girl replied.

“I guess so, as long as my cat Mia can come along with me.”

“We can’t let you bring your cat with you,” said the girl.

“Where I go, Mia goes. It’s both of us or neither of us.”

“Have it your way,” the strange girl replied.

After following the girl to a trailer parked on a vacant lot, she let Asher and Mia inside and offered Asher a drink. After drinking some of the strange fizzy beverage, Asher got dizzy and passed out.

When Asher awakened, he was six inches tall! He was running around on the sidewalk, trying to evade bicyclists and skateboarders. The girl who invited him to the trailer was normal sized, and chasing after him. He could see Mia in the distance, normal sized, so he made his way toward her.

Just as he reached Mia, he woke up and found himself strapped to a gurney. Being miniaturized was just a dream he was having, and the real Mia had knocked the electrodes that were connected to his forehead off. That had ended the simulation. The strange blonde girl was nowhere to be seen.

Asher bolted upright and tore the remaining electrodes from his body and grabbed Mia, and exited the trailer. When he returned to the vacant lot with the police carrying Mia in his arms, the trailer was gone. Only tire tracks remained.

“Mia, you saved me!” said Asher.

Just another day in the life of an amazing cat!
