A poem about loss, in Yama form (described following poem)
I sit here in my room
and try hard not to cry.
She left me yesterday.
I was her time to die.

She fought the curse for months,
then slowly slipped away.
My heart wants to believe
we'll meet again some day.

If god is really there,
may he or she be kind.
An atheist at heart,
I've left my faith behind.

I guess I'll never know
until my life is through.
And if god does exist,
I'll wish I always knew.

I'm not a perfect man.
I've never even tried.
But I'll do anything
to see, once more, my bride.

Yama form: Any number of 4-line stanzas, 6 syllables per line, rhyme scheme xaxa, where x is unrhymed. Theme should be grief over death or loss.
