Erilyn, one of Malice's employees at Mortem Enterprises, plays a joke on the God of Death
Erilyn: ( the young Origin lady cautiously navigated through the dimly lit halls of Mortem Enterprises, her heart pounding as she balanced a tray with her Master’s drink in the center. Her footsteps echoed against the stone walls, and she could feel the weight of everyone’s eyes on her as she passed their cubicles. )

Sareth: ( the Lumarian rolled her beautiful emerald green eyes from behind her cubicle wall, annoyed by Erilyn’s apparent fear. )

Hayen: ( grunts as Erilyn passes him, the Shaulker man thinking nothing of it. )

Jeniika: ( she stood up as Erilyn passed her, the Drecaal smirking lightly ) You’re a braver woman than I, Erilyn.

Illiam: ( he stood and gawked at Erilyn as she walked by, unable to form words at such bravery — or stupidity, while his voluminous Gemist antennae twitched )

Vilary: ( the Critnae giggles as she lounges in her chair, her cat-like tail twitching with amusement ) You’re sooo dead, Lyn.

Bensom: ( lazily salutes as she passes him, the Naian smirking at his joke ) Dead woman walking!

Leovik: ( stood by the door, the Automated leaning against the wall, and shakes his head at Erilyn’s foolishness ) It’s not worth it, you know.

Erilyn: ( despite the taunts and warnings, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement and recklessness building inside her. She knew she was treading dangerous waters, but the small devil on her shoulder egged her to continue. )

The heavy chamber doors creaked open in anticipation of her arrival. Erilyn paused and took a deep breath before pushing forward and entering the presence of Malice, the God of Death.

Malice: ( he sat at his desk, reading what looked like a newspaper filled with information about mortals. )

Erilyn: ( she finally reaches him and presents the coffee with a curtsy, completely silent. )

Malice: Thank you, Erilyn. ( he said absentmindedly, taking the drink and swirling it in his hand, still not looking at it )

The terrifying divine paused in the silence for a moment before raising the drink. But then he heard a giggle that seemed to come from nowhere. Confused, he stopped and looked at Erilyn, who still had an ashen expression on her face. Ignoring it, he brought the cup to his lips again, only to hear another giggle from Erilyn. He stops again to look in her direction, but she still appears to be stoic in her expression. Annoyed now, the God didn’t stop until he had sipped the hot substance. This time, Erilyn starts to laugh.

Malice: ( Finally catching on, he stood up from his seat and loomed over the now trembling woman, speaking in a menacing tone ) WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY DRINK?!

Erilyn: ( not expecting this reaction, she cowered in his presence ) I…I… ( she couldn’t say )

Malice: ( he takes another step toward her, and to the Origin woman, it felt as if he surrounded her ) You WHAT?!

Erilyn: You asked for regular coffee, but I gave you decaf!

Malice:……………………………..

Later that day…

Jeniika: ( sips her drink as she watches through a large window pane ) So she’s on message duty for the rest of the day?

Leovik: Yup…

Erilyn: ( struggled to remove a tightly tied message from a crow’s leg. Crows flew around her, causing chaos and leaving droppings on her head. She yells out in frustration, on the brink of tears. )

Malice: Let her punishment be known to any others who might try their hand at something ridiculous. ( he stood behind his employees, who both shuddered a bit with fear )

Jeniika & Leovik: Yes, Master… ( and with that, the two turned away from the window, going back to work )
