do what you can when nothing can be done
For those in prison
In a self-made jail or not
For those stuck in inaction
It self-brought or seldom sought

When nothing can be done
Do what you can
Smile in all darkness’ fun
So when light comes at last
The joy is not new, but more
For hope never to be forlorn

Never to slip into abyss
In which cynics give in to sin
Self-pity, Self-quitting
Sloth is their puppet stringing

They say, Why try when all to do is lose?
I say, do it for you
For in idleness
Comes a quiet death
But in hope
Can one be free
To elope
With all our inner potentiality

For those in a self-made hell
Hear not the sweet death bell
But seek thyself, thy life
Never to give it up to simple sin
Never to ever give in
For what to do but live?
