A poem written for Express It In Eight (07.03.24). Prompt: Travel Troubles
Travel Dilemma

Changing from asphalt into graveled,
the road ahead was not well-traveled.
Much more narrow and pitch black too,
she couldn’t tell if the road went through.

As she contemplated driving on,
she caught a glimpse of a sign beyond.
It said, "I'd turn back if I were you”,
and with those words, her misgivings grew.
