Home Ownership is a never ending battle, just like weeding, the work is never done. When you finish one project there's always another waiting in the wings for your attention. At this time we're getting ready to have the inside of our house painted. Our painter told us it would be three or four weeks before he can get started. We are having both the cabinets, fireplace, ceiling and walls painted. My wife has already begun emptying the closets and has cleared the hall closet with all the linens. She has done the same in the guest bathroom, and another hall closet that had all the glass wear and liquor and other items, we also have the service porch with cabinets above the washer and dryer that have been completed. We purchased 15 large U-Haul moving boxes of which 6 have been filled and we are now tackling the kitchen cabinets, once done that should complete the cabinets.

Nothing like staying busy, to pass the time!

Now that the weather is turning nicer we are spending more time on the patio, actually I should say I'm spending more time because Lou is always on the patio when she can be. Mainly because she smokes and doesn't do so in the house.
While on the patio we enjoy watching the humming birds coming to the feeders we have 3 up most of the time but will put up a forth one when one is about to be emptied. I also like watching the sky, you can catch passenger planes. You can't hear them and they appear out of no where. You're looking out at the blue sky then all of a sudden plane appears. These planes are coming out of Ontario and Los Angeles and you can't see them coming they just show up. You can watch them for a few moments but then there gone! I lean back in my chair and rest my neck on the cushion and watch away. A simple way to pass the time of day.

I'm trying to learn how to better allocate my time, when it comes to writing on WDC, As my last post stated I exiled myself to just writing in my blog and maybe writing some new stories. I have stuff I've written in the past, that at one time, I had posted, but when I left I deleted all that I'd written. I was surprised when I came back my blogs were all still there, but alas what I deleted is gone. I'm hoping to start writing new stuff, I know I can but I need to make myself do it. Everybody has other things that occupy their time, so I'm no different. I guess it boils down to how much to I want to create? Thinking of the past is fine but you don't want to live in the past, I want to move forward.

So much for now - Remember
Life is Good and God is Great

I was properly chastised for my fopaw with the Blog City Prompt, evidently I posted on the wrong forum. As I said before I evidently don't fully understand what I've been told. I have asked to be removed from the Blogging Circle of Friend and Blog City Forum. If I can't do it right then I shouldn't be there. I'll just post on my blog and leave it at that.

Have a good day and remember

I've spent a few hours trying to learn how to post my blog on Blog City Forum, and after numerous tries and a lot of help from the community, I was able to finally succeed. I'm now a happy camper!

My inability to understand what I was being told was frustrating to say the least, and I'm still not sure if I'm doing it right, but I will try to get better. I hope I have the patience to succeed.

I want to say Thank You to all who came to my rescue. I appreciate the your willingness and patience.

The Man in Black, I started listening to Johnny Cash back in the early 60,s and at that time Ring of Fire was my favorite song. I've continued to be a fan ever since I first him on the radio. He had a great voice (I thought). He went through a lot of rough years, but I continued to find his music enjoyable.

I enjoy the older Country western singers, like Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson along with several others including Charlie Pride, George Jones, Hank Williams, and whole bunch more.

I was happy when he joined up with Waylon, Willie and Kris Kristofferson. They used the Name Highwaymen and they had to get the OK to use that name since there was another group who were called the Highwaymen who sang Folk Music.

Prompt: Right as rain. Write about this term in your Blog entry today.

I've heard the term, and Ive used it once or twice when I commented on a statement made by someone else.

The computer says the saying or simile originated in Britain around 1894.
Wesbsters says the definition is: Very good, Healthy or Correct; factually accurate.

I don't know if I've ever given this term much thought, it's simple enough and I'm sure used more often than most people imagine.

Sept 11, 2001 was a shock to America. We weren't prepared for that day and all the devastation that happened. Brings to mind the words of President Roosevelt in his speech about the Attack on Pearl Harbor " A Day That Will Live In Infamy" I think that says it all!

One other day that comes to mind is The Assignation of President John F Kennedy. It produced the same kind of shock as both Pearl Harbor and 9/11
all were tragic events no one saw coming, or at least the general public.

Have a good day and remember

Prompt: James Earl Jones died yesterday. Were you a fan of this man? What do you think his best acting roles were? Write about this in your Blog entry today?

I've often enjoyed watching James Earl Jones over the years. I was a fan, make that I'm a fan even though he is gone, I'll still enjoy the movies I like to watch.

Movies I've had the pleasure of watching were Star Wars, The Hunt For Red October, and Field of Dreams. In each the chapter he played was strong and domineering. As Darth Vader he was a master villain. The Hunt For Red October he was the skipper of a submarine who wanted something different. In Field of Dreams he was someone who was involved in finding the baseball players who came from a different time. He was also the voice of the Main character in Lion King.

These were just a few of his many roles, and he was well regarded on stage. I think he was well rounded and did a good job

I started the day with a cup of coffee on the patio. My wife joined me and she brought out water because she was wanting to go to the DMV to renew her driver license. I grabbed a bite to eat and we headed out around 630am in the.morning. Lou wanted to get there early before the crowds, and we did. She was able to sit on a bench they had out front and she was about 7th in line. The DMV didn't open till 8am so she sat for awhile.

I decided I'd start walking so I did 3 miles completing it just after they opened the doors. Once inside she made made her way through the maze and was called up to a window around 8:30 or so. From there she went and took the test and she passed! A BIG relief to both her and I
.
Since it was still relatively early we decided to stop at McDonalds on our way home for refreshments.

Once we got home I took our dog Gracie around a short block so she didn't feel left out. I've gotten in my 10000 steps already and it's on 11am. I jumped into the shower after walking Gracie and now I'm ready for the day again!

I asked a question earlier on the notifications page about blogging and the Blog City Prompt. I'm slow I don't understand how you go about participating but I've asked for help and I'm sure someone will lend me a hand. I do want to participate, but when you don't know what you're doing it a little hard.

I'll call it quits for now but remember

I woke up this morning feeling good. I went out and had some coffee with my wife on the Patio. We're up around 4am and it was 74 degrees and dark outside. I was scheduled for a blood draw at 7:30am so I didn't have breakfast. My blood is draw for the surgery I'm scheduled to have on Monday the 9th. The woman who gave me the lab slip said it was not fasting, but she said results come out better if you don't eat. So I held off on taking nourishment.
I took my dog Gracie out and we did our 2 mile walk and after resting for a few minutes I went down for my appointment. I've been fortunate to get in and out fairly quickly because I made the appointment on line. So when I showed up and signed in I was called up and with in a minute I was back there being poked. But the young lady who drew my blood is very good and gentle. I hardly ever feel any pain when she sticks the needle in. That done I headed back home.
My wife has purchased a screen to hang in the doorway of her she shed, and she wanted me to cut a peace of wood that I bough yesterday so it would fit and she could paint it. She wanted it cut on angle, so I broke out my trusty Jig Saw and made the cuts she requested. That done I move some old paint that was in another shed to the garage so I can take them to a Hazorduse Waste Dump here in Apple Valley. Once that was completed, I pulled out case of toilet paper and restocked our cupboards. I had one more appointment to make with my pediatrist for my feet. Since I'm diabetic I'm able to get my feet taken care of through Medicare. It's the way it is and I'm not going to ask why.
Once I arrived back home I, took my shower and we had lunch. Frozen pizza was on the menu and my wife made a salad to go along with it. We topped it of with an ice cream bar! After lunch my wife had her cigaret and headed in for her nap.
Here I am filling the story of my day so far. That's life in the High Desert of California. The temperature is 101 degrees at 12:55pm and there is suppose to be an excessive heat warning for the next 3 days. Something to look forward to, I'm glad we have air conditioning.

Have a nice day and Remember

I think of this as a job when I can't think of anything to write, and it's fun when my creative juices are flowing. That's how it works for me and I don't think I'm alone, but maybe.

I was able to get my walk in with my dog Gracie and we did 2+ miles, and that started my day. When I got back I helped my wife Lou do some digging, Next I took 6 boxes of old tax papers to a company that does shredding. It cost a couple of bucks but it was worth it.

I've had the opportunity to review a couple of people since I came back, but I'm not sure how good my reviews are. I had one I really didn't understand the content and I told him so, and said "I was sorry but I didn't know how to review it". That was the first time that has happened for me.

We're in for a heat wave for the next 3 or 4 days, but I'm sure we'll live through it. This summer has been pretty bad for a lot of people including my wife. Unfortunately she has been having hot flashes and they don't mix with hot weather. She smokes and does so outside the house in the garage or on the patio. When the weather got bad, she told me"I needed to get her a place she can smoke with air conditioning!" We had a shed that I used for welding and other things and we decided to turn it into her She Shed.I had someone come out and install air, then I had someone else out to insulate, and a third person to put in drywall and paint. I'm fortunate to do all this and stay within my means. She is happier now but still would prefer to be outside because that's where she wants to be.

I'm scheduled to have eye surgery on Monday, and the hospital called and went over all my medical history and the medications that I take. I was instructed what to take on the morning of my surgery, and the time to arrive. I'm due at 9am and surgery is scheduled for 11am. It takes about 30 minutes then into recovery. I go home after 30 minutes. Quick and easy, and I'm praying that all goes well. I have been blessed so far with all the surgeries I've had over the years. The good Lord has been with each time, and I have a wonderful wife who takes care of me when I get home. I have an appointment in the morning at 7:30 at LabCorp to have my blood drawn. A peace of cake, I've been poked and prodded many times over the years. I have thin arteries and sometime it takes more than one try to find the vein. Such is life you take the good with bad!
