When depression eats away at you
Girl With a Broken Smile

Her smile is sad,
Though she tries hard.
Her happiness gone,
Her delight barred.

Behind her perfect face,
And her shinning eyes,
There lies a terror. . .a fear.
That’s where it lies.

Ever so growing
It reaches her heart.
Eating it slowly
Tearing it apart.

Her blood runs cold
Her heart, black.
All that is left
Is an empty sack.

For a girl who was beautiful,
It came to an end,
Forking two ways
Dead around the bend.
