I thought I'd never see the day...
"This Day"

What ever happened to those times
When you used to write me sweet letters
And sing me soothing songs that rhyme?

I never thought I'd see the day
When your love would go astray
Leave me sad and hurting
And feeling this way

Don’t you remember
That third day of September
When we honored you as family member?

I never thought I'd see the day
When your love would go astray
Leave me sad and hurting
And feeling this way

Four years your home was jail
You talked about it
Said those times were hell

I never thought I'd see the day
When your love would go astray
Leave me sad and hurting
And feeling this way

I used to send you literature
Thinking that this time
You would mature

I never thought I'd see the day
When your love would go astray
Leave sad and hurting
And feeling this way

We talked about our future
About how our love
Had grown and was for sure

I never thought I'd see the day
When your love would go astray
Leave sad and hurting
And feeling this way

People say that kisses don’t lie
That they tell the truth
They let you know if it’s time to say good bye

I never thought I'd see the day
When your love would go astray
Leave me sad and hurting
And feeling this way

You said that it was me that you love
It was my heart
That you'd place no one above

I never thought I'd see the day
When your love would go astray
Leave me sad and hurting
And feeling this way

You had me thinking that you were just a man
That had been dealt a messed up hand
But now I see your ignorance
Playing right into the master plan

I never thought I'd see the day
When your love would go astray
Leave me sad and hurting
And feeling this way

Now our love you've forgotten
Treating me like a stranger
Acting so cold and rotten
