Sometimes things seem hopeless....

Father, I have a heavy heart
filled with sorrow and woe.
I haven't an idea where to start,
but my salted tears must flow.
You look to me with gentle eyes
and tenderly take my hand
whispering, "Child, you must realize
things don't always go as planned."

Father, I have a troubled mind
cluttered with confusion and fear.
I am losing faith in mankind
with every passing year.
You hold me very close,
aware of my sadness and pain,
whispering, "Child, don't lose faith in those
who are living their lives in vain."

Father, I have a lonely soul
consumed by empty feeling.
I am restless and cold,
and my layers are slowly peeling.
You console me by erasing my concern,
protecting me from this world's mass,
whispering, "Child, though your life may turn,
always remember, and this too shall pass."
