Standing alone against the tide...surely all of you must have felt that just once?
I look above at the stormy heavens,
Looking as threatening as can be,
Some kind of euphoria, suspense floods right through me.
I look ahead to see old friends, relatives,
Their expectation reach so much further than any soul can reach-
My head is high, my shoulders squared,
And I see a worthy challenge against me.

I never want the easy way out,
I will only leave on broken legs,
My confidence will leave heartless one day,
The truth of that I don't deny,
But as long as people don't like me breathing,
And no one will pity or care,
Then I will stand alone and fight,
Solitary,
Wary,
And times will never change
As people will never forgive my rage
But I'll fight, despite growing age
Or growing pains and frozen tears
Because when I fight I fight strong,
And I only fight alone.
