A story poem of when I had open heart surgery.
It began in a freezing dim room, my life changed forever.
I was known by many , but only few knew the real me
Being 16 years old lying on a cold hollow table, surrounded
by instruments of reconstruction that looked like the opposite
Why did God give me this restriction I view as a curse .
I was told my parents found out when I was 2 weeks old

The words I speak of this memory were never told
As I continue to tell my story, the truth shall unfold
My emotions the day of surgery were all over the place
Now I search for my emotions yet still no trace
I was listening to my heart beat before I went under
Surrounded by a vast darkness, afraid of facing my fear
A voice shouted from the abyss like a rolling thunder
Although I was paralyzed, scared to die I shed a tear
