Based off of the song "Last Kiss" by J. Frank Wilson & The Cavaliers
He sits in there in his beaten down rocking chair, an old man. Looking out at the clear blue sky, he's reminded of his lost flame. Almost everything reminds him of her. Many years have passed since that night, and still he can't forget that sight. His love lying on the ground, dying in his arms.

"Hold me darling, for a little while.

Those were the last words he'd ever heard come from her beautiful lips. He took one last look at the face he knew he would miss for the rest of his life.

"Sweet heart, Daryl and Julia are coming for dinner. Do you want to get ready?"

"Sure, honey."

Hoisting up off the chair, taking one last look out past the field they've lived by for years now, he passes by his loving wife, kissing her on the head as he walks inside their home. She knows his love, he hopes it doesn't make her too upset. He loves his wife to death, but nothing could replace the love he had for his sweetheart.

Climbing up the steps of their creaking, old staircase, he clutches the arm rail a little tighter than he would've a few years back. He's no longer the young man he once was so long ago.

He looks at their bedroom, then his office. Maybe one letter wouldn't hurt. Turning, he enters his office. He huffs as he sits in his uncomfortable, stiff wooden chair. Pulling out his pen and paper, he goes to write a letter.

My Love,
I miss you every day. I looked at the blue sky on the porch and it reminded me of when we were walking in-

"John."

He turns. His wife stands in the doorway. It's the first time she's spoken to him while he's in his office writing.

"You need to let her go."

He turns again and looks at all the letters he's written her in the corner of the room. There must be hundreds over the years. He sighs. Tears form in his eyes as he looks back to his wife.

"Let's get ready for dinner."
