Singing the seasons away for The Writer's Cramp challenge
Sing me a summer, sing me July.
Sing me the birds and the clouds in the sky.
Sing me a lilt to a dear butterfly.
It'll all be over too soon.

Music is magic to my heart and soul.
Singing the hits of the day makes me whole.
Give me some blues or some old rock and roll,
and I'll try not to sing out of tune.

I love a good ditty to help the day start.
It's good for the mind. It's good for the heart.
Be it nearly forgotten or high on the chart,
I've no self-control. I must croon.

August will be here, and too soon comes fall,
but even when raking the leaves comes the call
to keep singing those tunes, be they big hits or small,
'cause it's only a few months 'til June.
